How to Get Fit Fast Using Your Phone?
To be honest, I’m a bit of a techno geek. I love the way that technology has transformed our lives. Just think about it – can you even imagine life without your smart phone? When was the last time you actually “remembered” someone’s phone number? And don’t even think about being productive without a computer. Truth is, for better or worse, we have become extremely dependant on technology.
Enough of the preamble you say? I thought this article was going to show me how to get fit fast using my phone? How can a phone get you fit? Well here’s the answer – applications. That’s right. There are some seriously cool applications that you can use on your smart phone that can definitely show you how to get fit fast.
One of my absolute favorites is called JEFIT. If you’re serious about getting fit and have an android phone then JEFIT is a must-have. Here are just a few of its features:
User friendly routine manager
Create your own workout routines easily using built-in exercises or customize your own
Adjustable sets for each exercise
Create multiple routines – Bulking, Cutting etc.
Smart Logging System
Automatically input weights and reps
Automatically record your 1 Rep Maximum (1RM)
Automatically save your best lift for each exercise
View log details easily using Calendar Mode
Track lifting and body stats via Graphic Chart
Body fat, height, weight and body measurement
Automatically calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI)
These are just a few of the features in this powerful application. One of my favorite features is the integrated logs. For example, when I bring up my workout routine and access a particular exercise – it shows me the weight and reps I completed for that exercise during the previous workouts. For those who want to improve on your lifts and/or reps each time this is invaluable info to have at your fingertips.
Additionally, when you complete a given exercise, it gives you the option to save it to the log AND start a predetermined timer for resting and preparing for the next exercise.
In closing I find JEFIT to be an excellent exercise app.
Tons of features
Database of Exercises and Customizable Exercises
Animation showing correct exercise form
Ability to setup multiple routines and easily switch between them
Not quite as intuitive as it could be
If you really want to learn how to get fit fast… by all means, use your phone.
