how-to-lose-stomach-fatNow this one may be shocking to you and will probably require a paradigm shift in your thinking to get your mind around it. But all those crunches, sit-ups, planks, twists, bends, ab rollers, rockers, and just about every late-night gadget sold on infomercials, do next to nothing to help you lose stomach fat.   Why?  Because they all imply that you can spot reduce a specific area of the body, in this case your stomach, when the truth of the matter is – it’s just not possible. Spot reduction is a total myth.  The body stores fat in different parts of the body based on genetics.   Unfortunately, for most, the first place it accumulates and the last place it comes off is the stomach area.  That’s the plain, hard truth.  Hey, I told you we were going to be honest.

While some of them will help you strengthen and tighten the abdominal muscles, they do little to address the main problem – the fat covering the abs.  They just don’t put enough caloric demand on the body to produce the deficit necessary to cause the body to release fat.  In order to do that you need exercises that use the larger muscles of the body with a high level of intensity.  So what’s the answer?

HOW TO LOSE STOMACH FAT – HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is by far the best training tactic to lose weight and force the body to shed fat. As we’ve mentioned it uses the larger muscles of the body, in short, intense intervals, which require a significant amount of energy. Provided that one’s diet is sensible, it will force the body to release fat stores and cause it to lean out.  So how is it performed?

Well here’s an example using sprints.  Unlike cardio where you would perform an exercise in a steady, often long (read boring) manner for an extended period of time, HIIT training is short and intense. So using sprints, for example; you’d sprint for a number of second at near all-out speed then rest for a short period of time.  This would constitute an interval. Repeat the interval a few times, often no more than 15 minutes or so and that’s it.  You’re done.  And here’s the best part:  the fat burning can continue for up to 48 hours.

HOW TO LOSE STOMACH FAT – CONCLUSION

No doubt, losing stomach fat will take some effort.  But with the right attitude, action and strategies, like High Intensity Interval Training, it is doable!!  So forget about all the gadgets, empty over-hyped promises and get to work.  You can do it.   Are You Ready?
